One of the most awaited annual jazz events in the Northwest, the Portland Jazz Festival takes place during two weeks in February, as part of Black History Month. The celebration of America’s indigenous art form takes place at multiple venues around town. The festival features international jazz masters, emerging artists, and local musicians.

The diverse lineup of the Portland Jazz Festival is packed with world-class musicians performing in different genres. In the past, the festival featured 5-time Grammy winner Angélique Kidjo, Hubert Laws, Dave Holland, Bill Frisell & Hiatus Kaiyote, Jon Cleary, Charlie Musselwhite, Curtis Salgado, Storm Large, Dumpstaphunk, Mike Phillips, Butcher Brown, Taylor McFerrin & Marcus Gilmore, Yemen Blues, Tord Gustavsen Trio, and many more.

Portland Jazz Festival hosts concerts year-round to promote the art of jazz, sharing differing perspectives of jazz, celebrating live performances, and enhancing arts education. The festival also funds outreach programs at Portland’s schools and neighborhoods, offering free performances and educational experiences.
