The city of Bizerte is known as the only natural site on UNESCO's World Heritage List in North Africa. Ichkeul Lake is the last in a chain of ancient lakes that were once in the area.
This lake is a splendid place where a lot of birds stop during their journeys. So you can observe a really magnificent picture with great nature scenes here, in Ichkeul National Park, where the lake is located. Also, you may be lucky to see the beautiful sunset over the water.
While the best time to visit Ichkeul Lake is considered to be spring blooming period, wintertime with its swelling bird population is another good season to come.
