Every summer in mid-June, the scenic city of Salina, Utah, gathers folks for a vibrant weekend of ballooning and family-friendly entertainment at the Eyes to the Sky Balloon Festival. The free event features about 25 vibrant balloons rising from the center of Salina, guiding visitors on a mesmerizing journey through the picturesque valleys of Utah.
Schedule of the Festival
The hot air balloons are scheduled to launch at 6:00 am from the North Sevier Middle School on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, taking advantage of the optimal weather conditions in the Salina area during this time. Visitors can enjoy complimentary "Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides" on Saturday morning immediately following the main balloon launch. Additionally, on Saturday night at around 9:00 pm on Main Street, there will be a mesmerizing balloon glow event, where the balloons will be illuminated by lighting the flames while standing upright.
Entertainment
In addition to hot air balloons, the fun-packed Eyes to the Sky Balloon Festival offers free evening concerts, craft and food vendors, and contests with prizes. A delicious fundraiser breakfast will be served at the launch site on Saturday from 6 am to 9 am. Visitors can witness the magic firsthand as balloon pilots inflate their majestic vessels, preparing to paint the sky with vibrant hues. Indulge in delicious bites from food trucks and explore unique crafts from vendors.
Main Street transforms into a festival hub, teeming with free activities for all ages. Visitors can witness thrilling FMX motorcycle stunts, cool off with a refreshing swim, and enjoy live music, from cowboy poetry to local talent showcases. Kids will have a blast with carnival rides, bounce houses, rock climbing walls, and mechanical bull rides. Runaway Fire and Chris Petersen Band concerts are scheduled daily from 5 to 8 pm.
