Spice up your summer in the Horseradish Capital of the World

Dates: June 7–8, 2024 (unconfirmed)

International Horseradish Festival is an annual family-friendly event in Collinsville, Illinois, held on the first weekend of June. Thousands of people gather on Main Street in Uptown Collinsville to celebrate all things horseradish with great food and colorful festivities. The festival offers plenty of music and entertainment on two stages, games, contests, a family fun area, a craft village, as well as food and beverage vendors.

Collinsville is often called the Horseradish Capital of the World because it hosts about a dozen farms, supplying up to 60 percent of the world's horseradish. To mark the Illinois signature spicy crop, Collinsville is throwing a party with free admission, live music, and parking, attracting about 25,000 attendees annually.

International Horseradish Festival highlights include the classic Horseradish Contests, Root Toss at the Old Herald Brewery and Distillery, Root Grinding on Clinton Street, culinary demonstrations, the International Horseradish 5K run, Cornhole Tournament, and the Car and Motorcycle Show, located in the Collinsville Library parking lot. Family Fun Area features bounce houses, face painting, a Bubble Bus, a petting zoo, games, and rides. The two-day festival runs from 11 am to 11 pm, rain or shine.
