The sun, the ocean and the beach can definitely boost your appetite. So South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) presents a perfect occasion to indulge in masterpieces created by celebrity chefs. Every year, this five-day February event attracts many of the big names in the food and beverage industry, from celebrity sommeliers to chefs and culinary personalities. Since it has started, the fest has grown into a world of tastings, seminars, brunches, dinners, lunches, and parties.

Festival Program & Events

The South Beach Wine & Food Festival attracts 65,000 people annually and features over 110 events dedicated to chefs and culinary personalities, wine, and spirits. Visitors have a chance to attend dinners hosted by leading restaurateurs and chefs, including Massimo Bottura, Daniel Boulud, Daniel Boulud, Henrique Sá Pessoa, George Mendes, Makoto Okuwa, Niven Patel, Maneet Chauhan, and numerous others.

You can start with the Burger Bash or the Boozy Events, which started as a humble wine dinner and has grown into a full-fledged party. With the rise in the popularity of craft cocktails, it's one of the fest's must-go events. The Burger Bash features an epic burger showdown, the Best Burger contest, where judges determine the most mouthwatering burger and unlimited drinks from Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

In addition to dinners, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival boasts an array of events where you can experience the best of Miami's culinary scene. Miami Beach Signature Events includes Wine Spectator's Best of the Best, Tournament of Champions by Guy Fieri, Goya Foods' Grand Tasting Village, and many other celebrations. Walkthrough tastings, lunches, brunches, late-night parties, and seminars are just some of the attractions at this jam-packed event.

Tickets

Ticket cost varies, depending on the event. Some events require a Capital One card, which generally costs anywhere from $200 to $450. Tickets to events vary from as low as $40 to $400.

Locations & Venues

Many events are held on Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, with other events spanning through Miami-Dade County, Broward, and Palm Beach. Some of the venues include La Mar by Gastón Acurio, Amara at Paraiso, Grand Tasting Village, Boulud Sud Miami, American Airlines® North Venue, Fontainebleau Miami Beach, The Betsy Hotel, and numerous other locations.

Festival History & Origins

The event began as a one-day celebration, known as Florida Extravaganza, at FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus in 1997. The festival is hosted by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. More than 1,000 students of FIU participated in the Festival, which has become an educational platform. The festival has been working with FIU since 1997.
