Oconomowoc is a resort town in Lake Country of Wisconsin. Its name means "waterfall " in the Potawatomi language. It's also a great destination to celebrate the 4th of July with several beaches and a large park by Fowler Lake. Independence Day in Oconomowoc features a community parade and fireworks after dusk.
The annual 4th of July Parade in Downtown Oconomowoc is sponsored by The Oconomowoc Rotary Club. The procession sets off at 5 pm. It is followed by a community festival and fireworks show over the lake.
Food, beverages, music, and various entertainment will be available at Fowler Park at 9 pm. Admission is free for the public. Fireworks usually start at 9:30 pm.
Fowler Lake is a 97-acre (39-ha) lake with a public boat landing, which is suitable for fishing. Fish species include panfish, largemouth bass, Northern pike, and walleye. The lake's water is very pure and clear.
