Cross-Country Skiing in Yosemite 2024-2025
One of the best ways to experience Yosemite’s winter beauty and enjoy miles of outstanding views
Best time: mid-December–mid-March
Yosemite National Park is one of the best destinations for cross-country skiing, offering more than 563 km of paths and featuring some of the most scenic trails in America.
Among the very best spots in the park for cross-country skiers of all skill levels is the Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area (also called Badger Pass Ski Area) which has about 145 km of marked trails and 40 km of machine-groomed tracks. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you'll find all necessary equipment and guidance at the Ski School as private lessons and ski tours available.
One of the most beautiful trails within the area is the 33-km loop from the Badger Pass to Glacier Point. By the way, cross-country skiing is one of the only ways to get to the Glacier Point lookout in winter!
The Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area is usually open mid-December through mid-March.
