Every third weekend of July, the city of Marysville in the greater Yuba-Sutter area is holding the annual Peach Festival. Northern California boasts many peach orchards, making this delicious fruit the area's top agricultural crop. The festival, celebrating all things peachy, features plenty of fun activities, entertainment, and over 130 vendor booths, lining D Street in the historic Gold Rush era Downtown. The event attracts about 30,000 attendees annually.
Marysville Peach Festival has two stages of live entertainment. Other highlights include a peach pie eating contest on Saturday at 3rd & D Streets, carnival rides, a pub crawl, Marysville Peach Festival 5K Run / Walk, Hula Hoop Contest and Water Balloon Relay, and other fun activities. Delicious treats that guests can try during the festival include peach funnel cakes, peach BBQ glazed ribs, prosciutto and peach pizza, peach salsa, peach smoothies, peach cheesecake, jam, jelly, deep-fried peaches, peach parfait and peach-bacon-mozzarella.
Held since 1999, the Marysville Peach Festival has become one of the most anticipated community events. It runs from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday and from 4 pm to 10 pm on Friday.
