Maine Harvest Festival & Craft Show 2024

The Maine Harvest Festival & Craft Show is a two-day event held around Thanksgiving at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. One of the favourite​ community gatherings for many Maine families features various food contests, demonstrations, sampling events, sales and more. Special attractions include a chocolate bar with organic hand-made chocolate, fruit, nuts, and jams. Cranberries is another highlight of the festival as well as other fresh local produce from local farms. There is also an art exhibition and lots of entertainment.

The Festival gathers well-known local chefs and over 200 Maine farmers, growers, bakers, cheese artisans, fibre​ artisans, distillers, and brewers under one roof. Many culinary students and young cooks take part in a double-crusted pie contest.

Location

The city of Bangor, which dates back to the mid-19th century, was famous for its lumber and shipbuilding industries. Located on the Penobscot River, Bangor used to be the world's largest lumber port, with 150 sawmills. It now offers excellent outdoor activities, like hiking, sailing, canoeing, hunting, and fishing, at the Bangor City Forest and other parks. Bangor’s Cross Insurance Center, with 35,000 square feet of vendor space, is a premier multi-purpose arena in the city. The annual Maine Harvest Festival & Craft Show, promoting the idea of “buying local,” usually gathers about 5,000 people.

Hours and Tickets

The weekend festival runs from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday. Admission to the festival is free. Those willing to sample from Maine's wineries and breweries could approach the booths and learn more about tours and samplings in breweries and wineries.
