In Myrtle Beach, you'll find all kinds of year-end celebrations, from wild night outs to unique kid-friendly activities. Explore the best ways to start the new year on a good note.
Southern Times Square, The Market Common
Southern Times Square at the Market Common district is the city's central celebration, inspired by the New York's famous NYE tradition. This free and family-friendly Myrtle Beach party kicks off at 9 pm. The streets get packed with live bands, vendors, and cheerful folks. Additionally, many restaurants in the area offer dinner specials for such an occasion. The premier part occurs at Valor Park—arrive early for the best view of a spectacular ball-drop and firework display.
More fireworks
Besides Southern Times Square, you can capture more fireworks on New Year's Eve. Spectacular explosions light up the sky over Barefoot Landing at 7 pm. Another firework display strikes Broadway at the Beach at 8 pm. Both shows are free.
Dining and nightlife options
Want to treat yourself to a splendid night out for NYE? Myrtle Beach has tons of interesting offers. Among the abundance of options, check out Murrells Inlet MarshWalk known as the Seafood Capital of South Carolina. Other hot places to dance the night away include Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues. Also, Big "M" Casino provides a stylish celebration aboard a scenic cruise on the Atlantic.
Kids-friendly celebrations
Find some entertainment for your little ones at the Children's Museum of South Carolina that throws Noon Year's Eve Party. Alternatively, bring your kids to Ripley's Aquarium for the New Year's Eve Sleepover. While the youngsters will be enjoying an overnight party beside massive aquatic creatures, you could have some grown-up fun at the Celebrity Square nearby.
Holiday lights
Another hit for families is Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet. Use your last chance in the season to absorb the twinkling holiday lights. On NYE, a special Light Up the New Year! runs from 6 pm to 9 pm.
