Discover the south coast of France by tasting local street food
Best time: all year round
Socca is a traditional dish served on the south coast of France, all along the French Riviera, and it is especially popular in Monaco and Nice. The recipe is quite simple, as it is just a thin cake consisting of chickpea flour, olive oil, and water.
There are many ways one can make it, which means that you’ll never quite eat the same dish twice. Usually, socca is cooked on fiery grills and served in a paper cone with a sprinkling of salt and pepper. A glass of cool wine or lemonade will add some sense of completeness to your meal.
