Little Si in Seattle 2025

A picturesque and short hike for the whole family

Best time: March–November

Little Si is a mountain in Washington, located next to its bigger brother, Mount Si. It is 480 m (1,576 feet) high and is located on the western side of the Cascade Range, not far from North Bend. Both Little Si and Mount Si received their names after homesteader Josiah "Uncle Si" Merritt.

Little Si Hike is very popular among beginners and families since it's easy and scenic. A 4.7 mi (7.56 km) round trip will get you to the elevation of 1300 ft (396.24 m). When you start the trail, it may seem steep, but after half a mile it levels out. At 0.3 and 0.5 mile of the route, hikers can transition to the Mount Si Trail if they want to. The trail passes through the woods where you can see huge rocks and close to the summit you can even observe some stunning views on the North Bend valley and the town. Mount Washington can also be seen on a clear day.
