Cocora Valley (Valle de Cocora), a famous coffee region near Salento, is one the best and most stunning places for trekking in Colombia. It's home to unique wax palms which at 60 meters high are the tallest palm in the world! Usually, tourists rent a public jeep in order to get from Salento to Cocora Valley or rent a private car. Cocora Valley is not quite a multi-day trek, but you can stay and camp in order to explore more!

You can also climb to a private mountain hut—Finca Primavera. It's just one place where you can have a meal. While trekking you will enjoy the beauty of nature, discover lots of beautiful trees, waterfalls, lakes, and rivers. The landscape of Cocora Valley is really fantastic. This area is a cloud forest, and it's pretty rainy all year-round. The driest season is the best for trekking from December to February and from June to September. This way you can avoid muddy trails.
