Festival Highlights

Over the past decade, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival has become a celebrated artistic tradition, showcasing diverse local talent in Canada's first festival of its kind. Inspired by Vancouver's 43,000 cherry trees, artists express the beauty of cherry blossoms through music, dance, theatre, film, visual arts, poetry, and photography. The festival fosters creativity, supports emerging and professional artists, and connects cultures through accessible performances, exhibitions, and unique collaborations.

Blossoms After Dark

Among various festival events, don't miss the Blossoms After Dark. Stroll through a magical display of illuminated cherry blossoms at David Lam Park, where surprises await around every corner. Enjoy live performances, interactive activities, food trucks, and stunning photo opportunities beneath glowing cherry blossom canopies. This free outdoor event offers entertainment and food until 9 pm, with the lights staying on until 10 pm.

The Big Picnic

The Big Picnic is another free event at David Lam Park to enjoy, where you can witness the stunning bloom of 100 Akebono cherry trees in a breathtaking setting. Relax under the cherry blossoms in the heart of Yaletown while enjoying live performances from local talent on the Cherry Jam Stage, along with a range of fun and interactive arts activities and workshops.

Sakura Days Japan Fair (April 12-13, 2025)

Sakura Days Japan Fair celebrates the rich culture of Japan, featuring everything from Japanese food and performances to arts and traditions. Visitors can immerse themselves in Japanese culture by participating in a traditional tea ceremony, sampling festival foods, tasting premium sake, learning Japanese games, and enjoying cultural performances.
