The BMO Vancouver Marathon is a 42 km race, held annually on the first Sunday of May. The marathon draws thousands of participants and spectators to the city among numerous locals as well. The race starts at Queen Elizabeth Park (Midlothian Avenue) and takes the runners along the beaches, through natural parks, and Vancouver’s Seawall. This event dates back to 1972 and is one of largest international marathon events in Canada.
