Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon Featured in
Brussels Airport Marathon is an annual race and one of the major sports events in Belgium. Over 10,000 runners arrive in Brussels from all over the world. The route is picturesque as runners pass by all the main sights and attractions of Brussels. Musicians play along the entire course of the race to entertain both competitors and spectators.
Participants also have the option to run a half marathon or a 5-kilometre (3-mile) distance. There is also a special race for children—the Chiquita Kids Run. Young participants run 1 km (0.6 mi) in Parc du Cinquantenaire.
The first edition of the Brussels Marathon occurred in 2004. Since then, the event has gained in popularity and attracts more people every year. To take part in the race, runners must pay a registration fee. The prices range from €15 to €70 depending on the distance.
