Austin Food & Wine Festival 2024
A heaven of wine, BBQ, and delectable spirits right in the heart of Texas
Dates: November 1–3, 2024
Austin Food & Wine Festival promises to be a weekend-long celebration of delicious Texan cuisine and various alcoholic beverages. Held in November by the organizers of Austin City Limits Music Festival, the event is filled to the brim with local delicacies, flavorful wine varieties, cooking demonstrations from nationally renowned chefs, and live entertainment. Coupled with the beauty of the Austin skyline, the festivities serve as a great introduction to the city's culinary scene and brew selection.
Food & Beverages
With a decade-long history, the festival established itself as a prime destination for foodies and gourmands. Ranging from traditional Texan BBQ to tacos and tapas, the food court showcases the best of Austin's eateries. Some of the beverages available at the venue include options from national and global wineries and breweries, including gin, rum, wine, and beer.
Festival Program
The highlight of Austin's main food event is the fire pit, where chefs cook their signature decisions right in front of the attendees on an open fire. This is a great chance to interact with the creators of the dish and learn some tips and tricks to remake it at home. Numerous chefs hold open demonstrations at the festival, with lineup featuring dozens of culinary experts from Texas and beyond. At the Tasting Sessions, let yourself indulge in delicious flavors of wine and beer, brought to you by expert distillers and brewers. Similar to chefs demos, they explain all the intricacies behind the brewing of your favorite drinks.
For those wanting an exclusive experience, a Made in Texas VIP program features a vibrant menu of delicious bits, continuing the festivities after the main program. If you enjoy cooking, consider participating in Hands-On Grilling with your loved one and showcase your skills on the charcoal grill. The event is accompanied by DJ music from some of the best Texan DJs.
Schedule
The festival takes place on November 1-3. The gates to the venue usually open at 1 pm and close at 5:30 pm on both days of the event. The VIP program, Made in Texas, unfolds on November 3rd from 7 pm until 9 pm. The Hands-on Grilling Party is set to take place from 11 am until 12:30 pm.
Tickets
One-day tickets start at $195 for both days, while a ticket for the entire weekend costs $270. To be able to access the Made in Texas event on November 3rd, be sure to purchase a VIP ticket, which costs $750. Additionally, if you'd like to participate in the hands-on grilling party with Chef Love on Saturday, you need an extra ticket, which costs $175.
Location at Auditorium Shores & Transportation
The event is annually hosted at the Auditorium Shores, a famous recreational spot in Austin. Auditorium Shores is situated on the banks of the Colorado River within the Town Lake Park and provides a lush, spacious backdrop for all the foodie events at the festival. The scale of the venue is impressive, with 49 acres (20 ha) of land. Visitors are encouraged to use rideshare services, Cap Metro buses and bikes. The buses stop at Republic Square, which is just 0,6 miles (1 km) away from the venue.
