Antioch administration and residents surely know a little something about proper Independence Day celebrations. Every year, Antioch hosts thousands of visitors, coming to the city specifically for the 4th-of-July festivities. So, let's dive into what you can experience there on America's birthday!
Parade
The parade takes place in downtown Antioch's historic Rivertown. You can join the parade to win the award in the following categories: Most Patriotic, Best Performance, and Best Vehicle. Join masses of people in an annual patriotic parade, which starts at 4 p.m. at the intersection of W 2nd St. and E St. The parade will be finished on W 3rd St. at the corner of D St. After the one-hour march, the celebration will continue in Waldie Plaza and the parking lot of City Hall through 9:40 p.m.
Firework Show
If you want to have an exciting time with friends and family, you are welcome in the Games Zone located at City Hall before picking your spot to see the big fireworks. As the sunset approaches, it's time to watch a breathtaking fireworks show above the Delta River together. The fireworks are scheduled after dusk at 9:20-9:40 pm. Admission is free.
Events & Activities
The festive program will take place in Waldie Plaza, and the parking lot of City Hall, encompassing W 2nd St. to W 3rd St. and G St. to I St. The celebration site features two big stages: a live entertainment stage and a DJ stage. Many bands will be playing their best hits between 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm & 7:15 pm – 9:15 pm. And if you plan to bring your children along — good thinking! A kids' zone with slides, bounce houses, obstacles, and other cool stuff will keep them busy between 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Kids stage hours are 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm & 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
Besides, feel free to walk around downtown and taste delicious drinks and mouth-watering meals from vendors that offer food and beverages, including Straw Hat Pizza, Freddie’s BBQ, Charley's Cheesesteaks, Rita’s Italian Ice & Sno Shack
