Sailing in Estonia 2025
Explore picturesque coastlines and medieval Tallinn by boat
Best time: April–October
There is a wide variety of yachts, with or without crew, for sailing enthusiasts in Estonia. Trips of different lengths and to different parts of Estonia can be organised. You can choose to sail the open sea, in a bay, or enjoy this activity on inland waters. The best places for sailing can be Tallinn Bay and nearby islands, like Aegna, Naissaar, and Prangli. From Pärnu, you can travel by boat to the islands of Kihnu and Ruhnu. From Haapsalu, you can take a trip to Hiiumaa and Vormsi and from Saaremaa head to Abruka.
You can enjoy beautiful nature and a calm voyage on Võrtsjärv and Peipsi. There you'll have the opportunity to swim and organise a picnic on the lake's islands. Saadjärv is more suitable for competitive sailing. Make sure you have some warm and waterproof clothes with you as well as sunglasses, a hat, and sun cream. Sailing brings lots of joy and excitement, whether you are spending a holiday with family, friends, or by yourself.
