Every summer the sea resort of Marina Palmense in Fermo province gathers thousands of reggae fans for the annual Bababoom Festival. Focused on reggae, dub, hip hop, and dancehall music, Bababoom is an excellent meeting point for musicians, artists, photographers, and performers as well as fans to listen to quality music and attend exciting and creative events. Visitors have a chance to discover Italian dancehall and reggae as there are many local bands in addition to the Jamaican and U.K. performers.
Bababoom features three stages: the Main stage featuring three bands every night from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., the Dub Area open from midnight till early morning, and the Dancehall Area open all night. The program includes the best European and Italian talent, dance classes, presentations of new albums and books, as well as public discussions. There is also a Buddha space, dedicated to relaxation and meditation, and Kite Park, devoted to kite and windsurfing. The Bababoom provides a camping area with ethnic and local street food, open recreational space, and arts centre.
The festival's lineups included Northern Lights, Taiwan MC, King Shiloh Soundsystem, Iseo & Dodosound, Inner Circle, Mellow Mood, Mad Professor, Rusty Rockerz, Shakalab, Train to Roots, Via Smoke, Red Stripes, Macka B, Jah Tubby's feat Gregory Fabulous and Macky Banton, and many others.
