Halloween Half Marathon & Freaky 4-Miler takes place every year at the end of October in Miami Beach. A costumed Halloween-themed run is a healthy alternative to pub crawls and Halloween parties. Participants are encouraged to dress up in a scary or funny costume, so you have a great chance to run your 13.1 mi (21 km) or 4 mi (6 km) course surrounded by monsters, zombies, superheroes, villains, body paint, and animal characters. Costumes are optional, of course, but most runners use their chance to impress the cheering crowds.
Halloween Half Marathon starts at 6:30 am, while Freaky 4-Miler's start is at 6:45 am. Both races start and finish at South Pointe Park on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. Finishers receive Halloween-themed medals, which might become collectible since each year has a different theme: bats, skeletons, or werewolves. This race is open for runners of all levels. If you prefer to walk, the four-mile distance would be the best. Halloween Half Marathon has been held since 2009, becoming one of the most popular fall events in Miami.
