LaFayette Apple Festival 2024 in New York State

LaFayette Apple Festival is an annual harvest celebration held every October at Apple Valley Park, an apple orchard in the Central New York town of LaFayette, south of Syracuse. The festival, with a half-century history, gathers about 30,000 visitors, local non-profits, artists, and crafters to celebrate New York state's most famous crop and the culture of small-town America.

LaFayette area has been traditionally one of the premier apple-growing regions of Upstate New York. Beautiful fall foliage over rolling hills makes the LaFayette Apple Festival one of the most picturesque events in New York and New England.

LaFayette Apple Festival Highlights

LaFayette Apple Festival features an array of activities and entertainment. The highlights include Apple King and Queen Contest, Scarecrow Contest, and Apple Pie competition, as well as pony rides, a petting zoo, and free entertainment in the Quonset building.

The Midway, with various rides and games, will surely please the little visitors. In addition to fun activities, the festival hosts a marketplace with nearly 400 vendors, including the best artisans and craftsmen from all over the Northeast. Delicious apple-infused treats include fresh donuts, dumplings, pies, turnovers, and cider.

Apple Pie Baking Contest

Everyone is welcome to enter a traditional 2-pastry crust apple pie in a disposable pie tin and take part in the competition. The contest takes place on Friday evening, October 11, before the festival, with judging starting at 6:15 pm. Competitors must bring their pie and the completed form to the festival grounds between 3 and 6 pm on Friday.

Thomas LaClair Classic 10k

Another must-to-attend event of the festival takes place on Sunday, October 13 at 9 am. Registration for 10k run opens at 7:30 am. and costs $50. Participants can use pre-registration with $45 price. T-shirts guaranteed for to the first 100 registered applicants.

Hours

The festival runs from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday and from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Additionally, Apple pancake breakfast begins on Saturday and Sunday at 7 am.

Admission and Parking

The ticket for the LaFayette Apple Festival is $6 per person; kids 12 and under have a free entrance. Parking for the festival guests is also free of charge.

Pet Policy

No pets are allowed on the festival grounds to ensure the enjoyment of all guests; however, service dogs are permitted.
