Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg, is located northwest of Fayetteville, North Carolina and is one of the largest military installations in the world. Every July 4th, Fort Liberty hosts an impressive Independence Day celebration featuring live music, family-friendly entertainment, food, beverages, and fireworks after dusk. Nearby cities of Fayetteville and Hope Mills host their own festivities, comparable to Fort Liberty's one.

4th at the Fort Celebration (July 4, 2024)

The 4th at the Fort festivities is an annual event that normally takes place at Main Post Parade Field. The highlights of the 2024 July 4th Celebration in Fort Liberty include a concert with top musical headlinersб spanning several genres, from pop and country to punk rock. Parachute free-fall demonstrations by the Golden Knights parachute team and an impressive flag ceremony are also among the most awaited events during the celebration. Festivities run from 3 pm to 10 pm, ending with an 18-minute fireworks display at 9:45 pm.

The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early since everyone will need gate access to the Main Post Parade Field if they're driving a vehicle. If you haven't served in the U.S. Armed Forces or don't have a military ID, you must check in with the Visitor Center to get a pass.

Fayetteville Independence Day Concert (July 4, 2024)

Fayetteville, the cultural and academic center of the area, is situated to the south of Fort Liberty and welcomes many visitors throughout the year. Independence Day is a great opportunity for the city to go all out, and it does, thanks to the annual 4th of July concert, which takes place in Festival Park.

The event is hosted in collaboration with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, which will perform all-time favorites. The venue's gates open at 6 pm, while the festivities begin at 7:15 pm. Admission is completely free, apart from food options and some activities at the park.

Food vendors will be offering various meals throughout the evening, so grab a bite once you get hungry from dancing. A free, child-friendly area will also be set up in the Festival Park. At the end of the celebration, the sky above the park grounds will lit up with a firework display, beginning at dusk.

Hope Mills Independence Day Celebration (June 29, 2024)

Just 15 miles (24 km) south of Fort Liberty, bordering Fayetteville, you may find a vibrant town of Hope Mills, a regional recreational center with multitude of parks and creeks. Hope Mills cherishes its traditions and annually hosts a 4th of July Celebration, full of fun and festivities. The residents and guests of the city salute to Independence earlier, on June 29th. The event spans from 5 pm to 9:15 pm and takes place at Hope Mills Municipal Park.

You'll have a chance to spend your Saturday evening listening to local musicians perform at the park's stage, and taste a variety of treats from food vendors. The children will stay preoccupied at this event since the festivities include various options for kid-friendly entertainment. Local breweries will set up their own booths and offer specialty alcohol drinks and brews.

Hope Mills Fireworks Display

The culmination of the event is most definitely the fireworks spectacle, which will begin at 9 pm. To witness this magnificent show, consider bringing your own blanket and cozy up to your loved ones in one of the spots in the park. In case of bad weather, the fireworks might be rescheduled to July 4th.

Hope Mills Independence Day Luncheon (July 2, 2024)

The city administration of Hope Mills continues its annual tradition of a 4th of July luncheon for its older residents. Taking place at the Community Room in Recreation Center, this celebratory dinner isn't just limited to a catered meal. It also features a DJ-hosted dance party, raffle prizes for all participants and great companionship of like-minded peers. The luncheon begins at 11 am and lasts until 1 am. To attend this event, you must be 55 years old or older. A ticket costs $15 per person.

Hope Mills Independence Day Parade (July 4, 2024)

The 4th of July celebration in Hope Mills doesn't stop there and continues with the annual Independence Day parade. The procession sets off from Rockfish Elementary School and marches all the way to Hope Mills Middle School. The spectators will gather on the sidewalks along the street and greet patriotically dressed participants. Red, white, and blue ribbons and costumes, star-spangled floats, and many American flags create an amazing sight that's worth seeing.
