Hickory Apple Festival is a yummy celebration, which runs 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Pittsburgh over a weekend in early October. Naturally, the top draw of this fall gathering is food, so make sure to feast on some apple butter, apple pies, apple crisps, and homemade brick oven bread. The pancake breakfast is available from 7 am through noon. But other than apples, the event offers a host of attractions, like live entertainment and unique crafters. The festival booths operate from 10 am through 5 pm. More details can be found on the official website (see External Resources).
The annual occasion has been bringing the Hickory community together since 1983. Thus, Hickory Apple Festival has long been the largest fundraiser for the Mount Pleasant Township in Washington County of Pennsylvania.
