Callander Jazz and Blues Festival is a popular music event taking place in Callander, a quaint town on the River Teith in the council area of Stirling. Part of the Trossachs National Park, the area boasts outstanding landscapes in the fall, which contributes to the musical program of the festival, spanning 75 gigs across 12 venues. Classic jazz, fusion of rock and blues, funk and soul are just some of the genres you can groove to at this event.
Music Lineup
Four days of live jazz, blues, soul, and boogie attract crowds from all over Scotland. Callander Jazz and Blues Festival is the largest music event in the area, featuring over 175 musicians during a long weekend of music and fall foliage in September. This year, the lineup features blues and rock trio Alex Hamilton Band, a master of the guitar, Iago Banet, swing artists Wee Sara & The Texans, and many others. Other highlights on the artist list include Tenement Jazz Band, Delta Fuse, The Korgis, Kyla Brox, Gerry Jablonski Band, Alice Faye, The Swell Belles, That Swing Sensation, Sean Taylor, and more.
Concert Venues
The performances unfold throughout the beautiful landscape of Callander city area. Some of the historical venues include Dalgair House Hotel, The Old Bank restaurant, MacNabs, The Crown Hotel, and The Riverside Inn, where visitors can pay admission at the door. Artists are also set to perform at the Callander Golf Club, The Waverley Hotel, Callander Youth Hostel, Ben Ledi Coffee Co., Nick's at Port of Mentetith, Dreadnought, and McLaren High School.
Tickets & Admission
Most concerts during the festival don't require a ticket, only a festival donation of your choice. On some nights, you only need to pay for food and beverages at the venue. Some of the performances require a ticket, which can be purchased at the door and costs £10-15.
