Hikers favour Argentina for its stunning routes in Patagonia, Mendoza and Tierra del Fuego, Tilcara and Calilegua, or the majestic region of Jujuy. Not to forget the fantastic Nahuel Huapi National Park, with its magnificent lakes, wide plains, and high mountains too!
At last, unforgettable hikes can be done on the Glacier Martial in Ushuaia or this lovely hikers' spot—the base camp of Aconcagua!
Since Argentina is a big country, the climate in different regions can differ considerably. In some areas, the hiking season is open already in October or even in September and closed late in April or May. Generally, the Argentine summer from November to March is the most suitable for hiking. However, some treks are accessible only in December through February. If you head to mountain ridges of the Andes, those are covered with snow and ice even in November and December, so do not forget to take warm clothes.
