Buenos Aires Jazz Festival 2023

The premier jazz event in Argentina

Dates: November 2–5, 2023 (unconfirmed)

Buenos Aires Jazz Festival is an annual event held in the capital of Argentina every November. The festival, with a focus on jazz, jazz fusion, Latin jazz, nuevo tango, bebop, and such interesting genres as gypsy jazz, swing, and klezmer music, features renowned international artists and top local musicians. Held since 2002, the festival gathers about 70,000 attendees and nearly 500 musicians.

Buenos Aires Jazz Festival was inspired, in part, by the after-dinner café concerts popular in the 1970s as well as Carlos Inzillo's Jazzología festival, held since 1984. Over the years, Buenos Aires Jazz Festival featured such notable jazz artists as Anthony Braxton, Kenny Barron, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ron Carter, Dave Douglas, Michael Brecker, David Gilmore, Herbie Hancock, Fred Hersch, Freddie Hubbard, Rosa Passos, Wayne Shorter, Ralph Towner, Peter Washington, Chucho Valdés, Randy Weston, Michelle Weir, and Cassandra Wilson. The festival also regularly hosts local musicians like Alfredo Remus, Ángel Sucheras, Gonzalo Bergara, Arturo Puertas, Juan Klappenbach, Ayelen Zuker & Timeless Soul Band, and others.

In addition to concerts at various venues, such as Usina del Arte in the La Boca area and Teatro Colón, BA Jazz features masterclasses, music clinics for aspiring musicians, and workshops for singers drummers, bass guitarists, and pianists.
