The countdown concert & street party
The Countdown Concert with Midnight Moment held at Dublin Castle is the main highlight of the New Year Festival. The concert features top Irish musicians and bands. The lineup varies year to year, but previous year's performers included Walking on Cars, Ash, Aimee & Lisa Mchugh, Picture This, Lyra, and Ryan Sheridan. Revelers can also attend the New Year’s Eve Street Party at St. Stephen’s Green South. The park comes alive with thousands of people, cheering together to the arrival of the New Year. The culmination of the night is a spectacular firework display, illuminating the sky over Dublin to mark the new beginning.

Before the concert, on December 31st, families can enjoy a New Year’s Matinee Moment, with an early countdown for children, various entertainment, and street performances. Dublin New Year Festival will continue on January 1 with New Year’s Afternoon in The Castle and a New Year’s Day Concert, which promises even more Irish music and craic in the heart of the city.
