Fort William Mountain Festival is a great introduction to mountaineering and popular winter sports. Organizers deliberately choose the middle of February to hold it as this month is ideal for this kind of activities. The attendees of the festival may watch the sports film screenings, listen to the themed lectures presented by the skilled athletes, or right away try their hand in mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing, or merely hiking. The festival starts with a torchlight descent at Launch Night. It is followed by four exciting days and nights packed with interesting events.
