Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici Lake National Park is a picturesque natural area located in the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains. The main feature of the area is the water. With close to 200 lakes and countless streams, it is often called the land of water. This spectacular park is also well-known for its flora and fauna. If you are a bird lover, you will easily find the capercaillie and the bearded vulture known as the lammergeier.
The park is beautiful at any season. Snow-free time of year which is May to October is suitable for hikers and cyclers willing to explore local nature to its fullest. However, winter also has a surprisingly vast variety of seasonal sports on offer.
