Every spring, Beaumont, Texas, comes alive with the vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors of the YMBL South Texas State Fair. Organized by the Young Men's Business League, this iconic event has been a cornerstone of local tradition for over 100 years, drawing tens of thousands of visitors from across the region. Known for its blend of thrilling entertainment, deep-rooted agricultural heritage, and family-friendly activities, the fair is a celebration of community, culture, and fun.
Fair Highlights
The annual YMBL South Texas State Fair in Beaumont features rides, a beer garden, and exhibitions in Ford Park. Live music performances set the stage for a festive atmosphere, showcasing local and regional artists across genres. Children can get busy in a kids' entertainment zone with a carnival midway, petting zoo, dairy show, and pony and camel riding. For many, the fair is an annual highlight, offering a perfect blend of tradition and new experiences that keep people coming back year after year.
Fair Food
Food is a significant attraction here, and iconic deep-fried meals are served on every corner: gumbo, kebabs, and crispy bacon-wrapped chicken. You can even find alligator in a Cajun food booth and, of course, legendary fried green tomatoes. Make sure to visit the fair on your diet cheat day, because this place has a lot to offer.
Vendors have been serving their best foods for over 100 years. Even though the fair had to be canceled a few times throughout its history, the Beaumont State Fair keeps its festive spirit. Sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, volunteers, and fair-goers gather annually to celebrate Beaumont’s heritage and entertainment. Altogether, this event brings 500,000 visitors every year.

The fair is a paradise for kids, featuring a dedicated children's area packed with rides, games, and interactive activities. Rodeo
No Texas fair would be complete without a rodeo, and the YMBL South Texas State Fair delivers in style. Spectators can enjoy a range of rodeo events, from bull riding to barrel racing, showcasing the skill and courage of cowboys and cowgirls. The Mutton Bustin' event is a huge crowd pleaser. Small contestants "cowboy up" and hold on for 6 exciting seconds.
Exhibitions and Shows
The agricultural roots of the fair shine brightly through its various contests and exhibits. Livestock shows allow young farmers to showcase their hard work, with competitions judging everything from cattle to poultry. The Youth Animal Auction is a major event, where local students present their prize animals for bidding, often raising funds to support their educational and agricultural pursuits.
In addition to livestock, the fair hosts a variety of exhibits that celebrate the region’s talent and creativity. Visitors can admire arts and crafts, homegrown produce, and baked goods. Tickets & Hours
Kids 2 years and under get in for free. For all other ages, admission is $10. On Rodeo and Bull Ride Nightts, a ticket includes arena admission without a reserved seat. Parking is free. Ride tickets are $1.00 each. Most rides require between 2 to 6 tickets per ride. The fair runs from 6 to 11 pm on week days and from noon to 11 pm on weekends.
