Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival (or The Bloom) is one of the most popular events in Virginia, celebrating its centennial in 2024. The 10-day festival features plenty of live entertainment, a vibrant parade, a carnival, dances, dinners, luncheons, a wine festival, a 10K Race, and much more.
Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival is held in various locations in the city of Winchester, located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, 75 miles west of Washington, D.C. The festival, which was first held on May 3, 1924, as a one-day event, now attracts more than 250,000 attendees.
Among the main attractions of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival is the beauty pageant. Over the years, more than 80 Queens Shenandoah have reigned over the festival. Every queen was crowned at Handley High School. The coronation is usually followed by a dance performance for the queen and her court. Other festival highlights include the Old Town Wine & Fine Arts Festival and Apple Blossom Carnival, Fiesta Latina, the 80's Dance Party, the Country Music, and Contemporary Christian Concert.
