The Great Falls are a series of rapids and waterfalls on the Potomac River, one of the favourite places for picnics and active sports like kayaking, white water rafting, climbing, and hiking. The Great Falls park is located partly in Virginia, partly in Maryland. If you want to make great pictures with full and rough waters the best time to come is early spring. If you come in mid summer you will only see mostly rocks, but the park offers other attractions like abundant flora and fauna.
