Wicked Victoria (October 27, 2024)
The Thrifty Foods Wicked Victoria Festival, one of the city’s most popular Halloween events, returns for its 10th annual celebration on Sunday, October 27, from 11 am to 3 pm. Presented by the Greater Victoria Festival Society, this free and family-friendly event transforms Government Street (from Yates to Broughton) into a pedestrian-only "Boo-levard" brimming with festive activities and live entertainment. As part of the larger "Wicked Week," the festival kicks off with a "Wickedly Wonderful" start, featuring a music stage, a kid’s zone, games, and a harvest market. The main highlight is the costume parade, where everyone is encouraged to dress up and join the wicked fun at the Spooktacular Wicked Victoria!
Pumpkinfest and Festival of Fear at Galey Farms (September 30–October 31, 2024, on Select Dates)
Galey Farms Halloween offers fun for the whole family with the Pumpkinfest and the Festival of Fear. Will you dare to walk through the vast 6,000 sq. ft (600 sq. m) CarnEvil Haunted House or enter a spooky cornfield maze? Madame Isabella Seance adds to the eerie atmosphere with ghost stories of years past. Visitors can enjoy hay rides to the pumpkin patch, u-pick pumpkins, train rides, and fantastic seasonal displays, providing ample photo opportunities for lasting memories.
Halloween Ghostly Walks (October 1–31, 2024)
Victoria gladly shares many chilling legends, haunted houses, and spooky passways. Halloween is a great occasion to check out the scariest of them. Halloween Ghostly Walks, running from October 1 to October 31, invite visitors to explore the city’s most haunted streets and alleys. Guided by a team of experienced storytellers, led by John Adams, Victoria’s renowned historian and paranormal author, the tours offer a thrilling journey through the city’s haunted history, offering a unique blend of fright and fun for all ages. The tours run from Sundays to Fridays at 7:30 pm and 9 pm and Saturdays at 2 pm, 7:30 pm, and 9 pm. Ticket prices are CA$22 for adults (17+), CA$12 for children (6-11), and CA$17 for seniors (65+) and students (with I.D.). Each Ghostly Walk lasts approximately 60 minutes, covering 2-3 kilometers of downtown Victoria’s most spine-chilling sites.
