The advantages of the Los Cabos Half Marathon include beautiful weather, fantastic scenery, and the opportunity to swim in the ocean just after the race. Since the event usually takes place in February, the marathon is an excellent chance to combine sports with vacation amid the incredible charm of the Baja California Peninsula.
The route begins in the historic city center of San Jose del Cabo, called the Plaza Mijares. The runners move towards Marina Puerto Los Cabos. The total distance of the race is 13.1 miles (21.1 km). The route has two short challenging slopes that are difficult even for an advanced athlete. Yet, the challenge is achievable for the runners of different levels, as there are distances of 10k and 5K.
Los Cabos Half Marathon was launched in 2011 to promote sports among locals and visitors of Cabo. Each year, the race enrolls about 3,000 participants, including Mexican celebrities.
