Norway celebrates its statehood through ceremonial parades. The biggest parade winds its way through the streets of Oslo

Viking nation has been celebrating their National Day on May 17 since 1905 when they separated from a loose union with Sweden.
The main action takes place in the capital of Oslo featuring a colorful parade, where Vikings' descendants march in modern military uniform while others are wearing traditional costumes called bunads and holding national flags.
The procession moves accompanied by ceremonial orchestra music, passes Karl Johans Gate and then proceeds along the main street towards the Royal Palace to see the royal family waving from the balcony.
