Oistins Fish Festival Featured in
Oistins is a small coastal town in southern Barbados, which has always been famous for its fish cuisine. And although fish is available here all year round, Oistins Fish Festival provides an additional opportunity to see the unusual traditions of the island and soak up its atmosphere to the fullest. The celebration is also one of the most significant community events, taking place on Easter weekend.
Since 1967, Oistins Fish Festival has been one of the most popular attractions in the town. The festivities include fish cleaning competitions, workshops, boat races, game tables, local arts on sale, and, of course, a taste of traditional Bajan cuisine. Most of the vendors cook near Christ Church and the fish market.
