Oistins Fish Festival 2024 in Barbados
This festival celebrates a fishing tradition passed down from generation to generation
Dates: March 29-April 1, 2024
Oistins is a small coastal town in southern Barbados, which has always been famous for its fish cuisine. And although fish is available here all year round, Oistins Fish Festival provides an additional opportunity to see the unusual traditions of the island and soak up its atmosphere to the fullest. The celebration, which is one of Barbados' most significant community events, takes place on Easter weekend.
Since 1967, Oistins Fish Festival has been one of the most popular attractions in the town. The program includes fish cleaning competitions, workshops, boat races, game tables, local arts, and, of course, traditional Bajan cuisine. Most of the vendors cook near Christ Church and the fish market.
