Spring is a great time to watch the city of Beijing abloom. The period between late April and early May is tulips season. Go to the International Flower Port for one of the best flower show. This is a huge flower farm which specializes in breeding and growing flowers and selling them and their seeds.
The port is divided into four parts: an exhibition area, a manufacturing area, a research and development area, and a garden. The 1.5 square mile park seems is humongous. It features a bamboo forest, multiple flower fields, a large lake, and much more. So, renting a bicycle cart is the best way to explore the park.
The exhibition area of the port hosts a lot of flower fairs and seasons for picking fruit as well as horticultural exhibitions. Roving around the park, it is easy to forget that you are in China. It is a great escape from the busy, loud, concrete jungle of Beijing. Along with seeing displays and flowers, tourists can pick their own fruits and visit expositions.
