Giant Water Lilies Featured in
Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, not far from Port Louis, is not only is the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere, but also a home to a very impressive creation of nature.
In the depths of the garden, you can find a long pond covered with giant water lilies. In this case, “giant” is not a figure of speech, as the lilies have an average diameter of 2 to 3 meters. You can see the giant water lilies throughout the whole year, but they’re at their prime during the warmest months—especially from December till March.
