The holiday season in Colorado Springs is all about snowy peaks, holiday lights, and delicious comfort foods!
Christmas Stroll in Old Colorado City (November 30, 2024)
There’s no better place to embrace the holiday spirit than Old Colorado City, with its charming galleries and historic brick shops along Colorado Avenue. During its annual Small Business Saturday, from 5 pm to 8 pm, visitors can enjoy holiday lights and a Victorian Christmas Celebration throughout Bancroft Park and Colorado Avenue. Shops will offer entertainment, treats, and special deals. Dickens Carolers will add to the festive atmosphere with songs and live holiday skits. Visitors can also take photos with Santa at his Cabin from 12 pm to 8 pm, meet live reindeer in Bancroft Park, and explore special offers, sales, and giveaways at shops along W. Colorado Ave. Live street entertainment and costumed characters will further enhance the holiday experience.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Electric Safari (December 6, 2024–January 1, 2025; on selected dates)
Experience the magic of the Electric Safari at the only mountain zoo in the US! This festive event features 85 light sculptures, large bonfires, indoor animal exhibits, larger-than-life illuminated inflatable animals, interactive activities, a sky ride, and stunning light displays. Immerse yourself in over one million lights and visit Santa’s Residence to meet St. Nick. Celebrating 34 years of holiday cheer, Electric Safari runs through December 23 but is closed on Christmas Eve, December 24. General admission with an advance timed ticket is from 5 to 7:30 pm, with the event ending at 8:30 pm. Tickets are $3 per person, and children ages two and under get in free.
Skate in Acacia Park (November 15, 2024–January 31, 2025)
Downtown Acacia Park is the perfect destination for a family outing. The huge 4,675-sq ft (434 sq m) ice rink is located on the western side of the park, available for all ages. Get into the Christmas spirit while gliding under the holiday lights and stars, listening to holiday tunes in the heart of the big city. Beginning skaters can get buckets to help them more fully enjoy the experience. Children under four can skate for free.
