Kitesurfing and Windsurfing in Denmark 2025
The windy weather of Denmark can be a good thing when it comes to these sports
Best time: May–September
Denmark in many senses is the ultimate kite- and windsurfing destination. With 7,314 kilometres of coastline and almost permanent wind, you definitely won't get bored. In fact, Denmark has the largest wind turbine industry in the world.
One of the best spots for kite- and windsurfing in the country is Hvide Sande with a huge fjord on one side and the North Sea on the other. Also, a big kite, windsurf and wakeboarding competition called WATERZ takes place there in September.
Another great place to catch the wind is Klitmøller, which is quite a famous kite- and windsurfing spot. Lastly, check out a world-renowned Handbjerg Marina, famed for uninterrupted wind-pressure and flat water.
