Thousands of watermelons and melons are cultivated in Jordan – particularly Jordan Valley. In addition to local consumption, a great part of the harvest is exported to the Gulf states, mostly Syria and Lebanon. Tourists can indulge themselves with the mouth-watering summer fruit as watermelon comes in season between April and October.
