As plums are early flowering trees, the blooming starts at the beginning of the first spring month. There are dozens of plum varieties ranging in colours not only from white to vivid pink but also red and green. Although the beginning of March marks just a few of trees covered with fragrant blossoms, the prime blooming time for more than 1,000 trees is from mid-to-late March until the middle of April. So you just need to hit the right time to witness the beauty.
During the flowering season, Ming Dynasty City Wall Relics Park in Beijing holds Plum Blossom Festival. The park which was built during the Ming Dynasty is considered the best place to enjoy the blossoms. You can find dozens of people, strolling on the pathways, talking, laughing, taking photographs, smelling the fragrant buds and enjoying the sunshine in the park. This nature scene is apparently a prize for photographers.
