Kvirikoba 2025 in Georgia
Lagurka or Kvirikoba is an annual local festival in Svaneti rooted in Christianity and Georgian culture

This religious holiday in a village called Kala in Svaneti starts at the dawn on the 28th of July. People gather at the church and pray. In the morning, a bull is sacrificed and its meat is then cooked in an ancient copper pot, originating from the middle ages. Later in the morning, young men engage in a traditional competition of throwing huge stones.
This holiday is about spending time with family while engaging in traditional and religious activities. The highlight of the day is also the delicious round bread baked specially for the occasion.
