Stuttgart Christmas Market is one of the largest and most popular in Germany and even the whole of Europe. Dating back to 1692, Stuttgart Christkindleinmarkt is also one of the oldest on the continent. One of the main highlights of the market is the giant Advent Calendar displayed on the Rathaus, Starting from December 1, a window of the calendar, dedicated to one of Stuttgart's boroughs, opens up on the city hall. Entertainment at Marktplatz includes live concerts, a midway with carousels, children's rides, and a real mini steam engine. In addition to the main Christmas market, Stuttgart hosts The Antique Market and Finnish Winter Village on Karlsplatz.
