Greenwich Christmas Market 2025-2026 in London

The only market in London located within a World Heritage site

Dates: late November–late December

Greenwich is a perfect holiday destination! Plenty of Christmas cheer awaits visitors at the Queen’s House Ice Rink, a restored 19th-century ship of Cutty Sark, and the National Maritime Museum.

Greenwich Market, home of Meridian Line and a World Heritage Site, is another must-see. With its unique, charming atmosphere, the market is open year-round, seven days a week. However, visitors can only witness its awe-inspiring holiday illumination from mid-November through early January.

Lantern Parade and Christmas Lights

During the Lighting Ceremony, which takes place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., the public can enjoy the Greenwich lantern procession. Children from local schools carry handmade lanterns. The parade passes through the Old Royal Naval College, Cutty Sark Gardens, and the Greenwich Market, where crowds cheer during the big Christmas countdown and the Christmas Market lights switch on.

Christmas Carolling

For the festive season, a carol singing program runs throughout December. The sound of carols during Christmas shopping adds a traditional spirit as you stroll through a superb array of arts, crafts, clothing, and food.

Shopping

Greenwich Market offers an amazing Christmas shopping experience. Dozens of stalls and shops have on display an array of unique gifts, like vintage maps, decor, linen, antiques, jewelry, and apparel. British designer-makers showcase their beautiful items created to impress and inspire: handmade candles, leather accessories, homeware, and one-of-a-kind art.

Stroll through the stalls and then relax with a glass of warm mulled wine for a full experience. Greenwich Town Centre becomes a real Winter Wonderland in the middle of a historic maritime neighborhood.
