Greenwich Christmas Market 2023

The only market in London located within a World Heritage site

Dates: November 15, 2023–early January 2024

Greenwich is a perfect holiday destination! Plenty of Christmas cheer awaits visitors at the Queen’s House Ice Rink, a restored 19th-century ship of Cutty Sark, and the National Maritime Museum. Greenwich Market is another must-see at the home of Meridian Line and a World Heritage Site with its unique, charming atmosphere. The market is open year-round, seven days a week. However, visitors can only witness its awe-inspiring holiday illumination from mid-November through early January.

During the Lighting Ceremony, the public can enjoy the Greenwich lantern procession, consisting of children from local schools carrying handmade lanterns. The parade goes through the Old Royal Naval College, Cutty Sark Gardens, and the Greenwich Market, where crowds cheer during the big Christmas countdown and Christmas Market lights switch-on.

Greenwich Market offers an amazing Christmas shopping experience. Dozens of stalls and shops have on display an array of unique gifts, like vintage maps, decor, linen, antiques, jewelry, and apparel. British designer-makers showcase their beautiful items created to impress and to inspire: handmade candles, leather accessories, homeware, and one-of-a-kind art. Stroll through the stalls and then relax with a glass of warm mulled wine for a full experience! Greenwich Town Centre becomes a real Winter Wonderland in the middle of a historic maritime neighborhood!
