This deep-fried doughnut covered with a thick layer of custard cream and black cherry on top seems casual, but it's especially delicious. Moreover, it's available only for a very short period of time between the Catholic feast of St. Joseph celebrated on March 19, and Easter. The dessert has Italian origins, but enjoys great popularity among Canadians, and is available mainly in Italian-Canadian markets.
